Job Description: Snack Shack Attendant – Big Trees Village

Location: Big Trees Village (BTV), Camp Connell
Season: Summer: Memorial Day through Labor Day
Employment Type: Part-Time / Full-Time (Seasonal)

Job Summary

Under the direction of the Recreation Center Activities Manager, the Snack Shack Attendant (SSA) is responsible for the preparation and serving of pre-packaged foods and beverages, keeping track of the food inventory in the Big Trees Village Recreation Center Snack Shack and related duties as required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Will be friendly, courteous, and welcoming to all patrons

  • Will always wash hands before handling food and beverages

  • Will not allow any guests in the Snack Shack

  • Will not leave the Snack Shack unattended

  • Will keep counters/surfaces clean and any personal items must be put on a shelf

  • Will keep shelves clean and stocked at all times

  • Will keep refrigerators and freezers clean and stocked at all times

  • Will keep track of inventory and submit supply orders weekly

  • Will never use food that has fallen on the floor

  • Will always use a napkin/paper towel when serving cones and will always use utensils as appropriate

  • Will not give away food for free: all BTVPOA employees can get cups, ice, lemonade and iced tea for free – nothing else

  • Will provide consistent portions

  • Will learn and utilize the Square system to accurately charge and collect payment from patrons

  • Will collect cash from patrons, if applicable, and count change back to them accurately

  • Will thank patrons for their purchase by courteously wishing them well as they leave, for example by saying “Enjoy” or “Thank you”

  • Will record starting cash amount and ending cash amount daily

  • Will take out garbage as needed and at end of day

  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Minimum of 14 years old on first day of employment

  • Must have completed Work Permit (CA Form B1-4) in first day of employment if under 18 years old

  • Customer service experience desired but not required

Schedule & Compensation

  • Flexible summer schedule, including weekends and holidays

  • Competitive seasonal pay ($17-$18.50 per hr, based on experience)
